Brandon Currie, Graves Motorsports Yamaha/AMA Supermoto Lites #1 Post Washington-Pre X Games 14 & New England Supermoto Classic Report
July 21 2008 Anaheim, CA. The first XTRM / AMA
Supermoto Championship Series race has concluded, and the supermoto
season is now in motion. The Seattle race was extremely fun and
turned out to be a great start to the season. The track was
enjoyable, having some technical sections, as well as fast flowing
sections. The dirt section was decent seeing as only half of it was
utilized due to the pre race rain.
The weekend could not have gone any better for me after qualifying first, taking the holeshot and winning both my heat race and the main. I know I have put in the hard work that is necessary to fight for the championship this year, and, thus far, it is paying off. I plan to continue with my training program and working toward achieving another 2009 SupermotoLites Championship. During these past few weeks, I have continued to train and have started to ridea YZ450F to get ready for X Games 14. The 450 has been treating me well and I feel that I am getting closer and closer to the speed needed to be toward the front of the highly competitive field. The Graves Yamaha crew builds an amazing 450 bike, which I know will be crucial to finishing in thefront of the pack. I am hoping that X Games 14 will be the turning point in my ‘premier class career’. After X Games, it will be off to Connecticut for the 2nd round of the XTRM / AMA Supermoto Championship Series. I will be back on the 250 for the rest of the year and ready to continue the championship chase.
