Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing showed
strong results in Doug Henry’s New England Supermoto GP

Johnny Lewis wins heat race in his DNA Energy Drink debut;

Mike Ingle nabbed top ten in the Unlimited Class

Stafford Springs, Conn. (August 12, 2008) – Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing debuted its expanded program this past weekend with strong results at round two of the XTRM/AMA Supermoto Championship at Stafford Motor Speedway. At Doug Henry’s New England Supermoto Grand Prix, team rider Johnny Lewis, debuting his new DNA Energy Drink colors and Fly Racing gear, finished fourth in the Lites Class, while Thomas Bordelon and Ingle had fine showings.

 Lewis and Bordelon both competed in the Lites Class on Yamahas, with Lewis taking the win in the second heat race, posting the second-fastest lap time among all the competitors. Bordelon finished seventh in the six-lap heat race. In the main event, Lewis started on the first row while Bordelon was on the fourth row. Lewis had a fourth-place start and moved into third in the dirt section, where all day he was among the fastest. Once the front three got into lappers towards the end of the race, places third through sixth tightened up. On the last lap going into the chicane, Lewis was slowed by a lapper, got passed and finished fourth.

 “The new motor I have from VPE Racing helped to improve my lap times from Seattle,” said Lewis. “This was a fun track and I am proud to represent DNA Energy Drink and work with a great group of guys.”

 The dirt section was tough all day with thick sand, and like many competitors Bordelon tried to keep it on two wheels. Although he got hung up twice during the main, he soldiered on to a respectable 14th place finish. Lewis and Bordelon are now 4th and 13th in series points, respectively, with four rounds remaining.

 Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing’s Mike Ingle competed in the Unlimited Class on his KTM520. He nabbed fourth in his heat race. Ingle, starting on the second row in the main event, was last at the end of the first lap. He rode smart, staying out of significant trouble, and posted a ninth in the main, his first top ten of the year. Ingle now sits 14th in series points standings.

 “This was a great debut for our expanded team with Johnny on board and his sponsors a part of our program,” said Team Manager Tim Shea. “All of the riders made adjustments like they should after the heat races, and went out to ride hard in the main events. Our hats go off to Doug Henry and his crew for putting on an excellent program and bringing out thousands of fans.”

 Shea adds, “We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Hart family in their loss. Supermoto is a small community and we will do whatever it takes to support the Hart family and their race team.”

 Bordelon and Lewis will sign autographs at Memphis Smoke restaurant in Royal Oak, Michigan this Thursday, August 14 at 7-9 p.m. Then, together with Ingle, they will compete in the inaugural MISuperMoto X at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan on Saturday, August 16 vying for a share of the pro purse and for the Doug Henry Hard Charger Award, presented by Yamaha.
