Supermoto athletes to be in heart of metro Detroit for autograph session hosted by MISuperMoto Event to promote August 16 race and educate the public about supermoto
Royal Oak, Mich. (August 12, 2008) – Meet the athletes of supermoto and find out more about the sport. In an effort to bring more fans to supermoto and to motorcycle racing in general, as well as to promote the upcoming MISuperMoto X, an autograph session is being held at Memphis Smoke restaurant in Royal Oak, Michigan this Thursday, August 14 at 7-9 p.m. Memphis Smoke is in the heart of this hip downtown area, a hot spot for tens of thousands of metro Detroiters. Scheduled to appear are Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing’s Thomas Bordelon and Johnny Lewis. Additional athletes are expected. The aforementioned team will have its 40-foot transporter and trailer on display in front of Memphis Smoke on the city’s main street, and inside the restaurant will be a team race bike. Memphis Smoke is a popular hotspot in metro Detroit and frequently named the number one restaurant for live music by the readers of the Metro Times and Real Detroit Weekly. The restaurant is located at 100 Main Street in Royal Oak, Mich. (at 11 Mile Road). It’s approximately 30 minutes north of Detroit. The date of the autograph session is also the weekly Royal Oak Sport Bike Night where hundreds of motorcyclists come out to show off their bikes and share riding stories. Motorcycle riders can bring their key into Memphis Smoke for 20 percent off their total food purchase Thursday evening, August 14. The MISuperMoto autograph session at Memphis Smoke is open to the public. Fans can purchase tickets to the August 16 MISuperMoto X race at the Auto City Speedway gate with adults $15, kids ages 6-12 are $5, and kids 5 years-old and under enter free.
