Supermoto riders can take on revised track layout as MISuperMoto series heads to Auto City Speedway New dirt section with pro-style jumps to highlight Test and Tune Day
Clio, Mich. (May 12, 2008) – Whether you’re an amateur supermoto rider, veteran pro, or beginner, it’s time to “back it in” at the MISuperMoto Test and Tune Day at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan on Sunday, May 18 at noon. This will be the facility’s first supermoto event of the year and features an all-new dirt section. As a NASCAR regional race course, Auto City is sure to put a big smile on your face with its 17-degree banked turn. “I am really
stoked about the new dirt section at Auto City,” said Dave Duprey, owner
of MISuperMoto. “There are new jump combinations and we brought in
200-plus yards of clay. It will be fairly forgiving for most amateurs to
ride and give experts the closest to the pro level we’ve ever had.”
What’s needed to ride a MISuperMoto Test and Tune Day? A motocross, off-road or dual-sport motorcycle in good running condition, no leaking oil, superb brakes, and full-on supermoto tires, road slicks or dual-sport road-orientated tires with no knobbies. Since Auto City is a permanent road course, riders are required to have footpeg and axle sliders—which will be available on-site for purchase. You must pass a tech inspection during sign-up and then you’re good to go.
The Sunday, May 18 MISuperMoto Test and Tune Day is at 12 - 4 p.m. Rider fee is $40 and spectators pay $5. Auto City Speedway is located at 10205 N. Saginaw Road in Clio, Mich. MISuperMoto Test and Tune Days continue at Auto City on June 15, September 28, and November 2. The track will also host the inaugural MISuperMoto X event that includes supermoto and rally car racing separately on a new course with a $2,500 supermoto pro purse. Jackson Speedway will host five more Test and Tune Days. Visit www.misupermoto.com for event rules, locations and tips on how to set-up your bike.
