#129 Tyler O'Hara "Livin' the Life" Race Report

6/27-6/29 Supermoto USA RD 4

I arrived in Oregon Friday in the evening to take a quick look at the track. The track was your typical tight cart track with limited dirt sections.
Saturday was hot it was in the 100's. I felt confident with my training and was ready to race. I started with Pro practice, I quickly learned the track and found some lines that I would save for the race. After practice we had pro qualifying. I went out and rode smooth to top the chart with the fastest lap of qualifying.

The Pro main event was the last race of the day, so I had some down time. It is hard for me to just sit around and watch everyone race so I signed up for the 1 hour team race. I was confident with my partner Brian Pecore and my past off road racing experience where the races are two hours and you ride solo. Brian started the race out, he put us up front with a great start and he rode great all day. we rode in 15min intervals so we would stay fresh. The team race was a lot of fun racing with Brian, we took the overall win with the most laps in one hour. When the team race was over I drank as much water as I could to stay hydrated.

I was ready for the Pro main event. I had the pole positing in the race, got a great start and was in the lead. Every lap I felt like I could go faster and faster, I pulled a gap on 2nd place Joey Pascarella. I knew Joey wouldn't give up so I had to stay focused and not make any mistakes. About half way through the race we started getting into lap traffic where Joey found some fast lines and started to close the gap. I led every lap of the race and on the last lap I made one mistake and it cost me the race. I got loose in the dirt and went over the berm. I ended up in second place. It was a horrible way to end the day. It was a hard lesson to learn but on the bright side I can take that lesson with me.

Sunday, in the Open Expert Heat, I won my heat and was on a mission all day.
After my heat race win I analyzed my race and was looking forward to the Expert main.

The stage was set, I had the pole position and the momentum from the heat race. I was ready to rock!
The green flag dropped and my mind set was not going to settle for any thing less then a win. I got a great jump on the start and came out of turn one with the hole shot. I rode hard the whole race and put together some really fast laps and when the checkered flag flew I was the first across the line, winning the open Expert Main event. The win felt great, and it was the perfect way to end the weekend.

I cant thank every one from BP racing enough. They have stood behind me all year at every race. I'm very grateful to be a part of such a fantastic racing program. You guys rock!

Also a Shout out to Joey Pascarella for your first Pro win. Congratulation's bud you earned it!

I'd like to thank all my sponsors for their ongoing support this year: BP racing, Sheehan Construction, SME, Dunlop, Scuderia West, ERC, Will Pennington, QTM, SPS, Sidi, Supermoto Photo, Dirt Digits, Bell Helmets, M Boz
